Monument Fire is NOW accepting applications for the position of Entry-Level Firefighter and Entry-Level Firefighter/Paramedic.

MFD works with Public Safety Testing (PST) for lists of eligible candidates. Candidates must complete a PST written test, complete a Personal History Statement (PHS), and upload all required documentation through the PST portal. Upon successful completion of testing, the PHS, and the upload of the required documentation, candidates may be selected to advance to oral board interviews. The interview process will begin the week of September 21 – September 25, 2026. Candidates are encouraged to keep their test scores and information up to date with Public Safety Testing.

 

The minimum qualifications to apply are:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.

  • Must be a United States citizen or lawful permanent resident, or can legally work in the United States by the time of application.

  • Possess a valid driver's license (must obtain a valid CO driver's license within three (3) months of hire).

  • State of Colorado EMT or National Registry EMT with the ability to obtain State of Colorado EMT.

  • Current BLS level CPR card (AHA, HIS, or Red Cross accepted).

  • Current Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) certificate dated August 13, 2025 – August 14, 2026.

  • Sign up for an online, virtual written test

    • Tests are offered every day to work around your schedule

  • Complete Personal History Statement (PHS)

  • Upload all required documentation

  • All steps must be completed by August 14, 2026

The first 75 candidates to take the written test will have their testing fees waived! There is no need to submit a hard copy resume and application for the position of firefighter.
